Job Description: The library assistant position is responsible for providing services at the Feinberg Computer Lab and adjoining computer facilities. Students are responsible for some data collection including population counts and types of reference questions, monitoring facilities, reshelving library materials, answering patron questions, helping patrons locate books or other materials (on as needed basis), cleaning computers and other materials, assisting with library exhibits (on an as needed basis), and communicating problems to library supervisors when they arise. The library associate job is an internally promoted position for individuals with experience and demonstrated leadership qualities.
Experience Required: keyboarding, computer literacy, exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be willing to commit to working a full semester. Opportunities for advancement. Previous experience in a library, restaurant or retail store desirable.
Hours: Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. – midnight; Friday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday from noon to midnight.
