Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Studies (East Tennessee State University) Founded 30 years ago in 1982 by Jack Tottle, it is the oldest established program of its kind at any four-year institution.
American Roots Music Program (Berkelee College of Music) Produces concerts, hosts visiting artists, designs and implements curriculum, creates and hosts faculty development sessions, and designs and implements symposiums and seminars. The artistic director for the American Roots Music Program is Matt Glaser, who served as chair of Berklee’s String Department for 28 years.
