Online Nursing RN to BSN Research Guide

What is a periodical database?

From the library homepage, when you click on find articles, the search box uses Ebsco's Academic Premier database. All that means, is you are using an index that searches through periodicals such as scholarly journals, magazines, trade journals, and newspapers. Additionally, you will find newscasts and video casts from news media and tv stations, as well as book, movie, video games, and dvd reviews. When you type in your terms, the database matches the word to any articles in its index.

Many times the resources are available in full text indicated by these symbols

Other times you may have to click on a link to see if the article is in full text, if not, you will need to request through ILL.

At times there will be no other option than to request though ILL.

If you use Google Scholar tab, you will search our databases through the Google scholar interface. the results will look quite a bit different and book chapters are included in the results.
